February 3rd. We will be having a critique on that day for your houses. If you need to stay after school, please speak with me to schedule after school studio time.
Objectives for today: 1. Take Ceramics Test. 2. When you have finished test, you may glaze pottery and/or clean out your Ceramics locker.
Tomorrow and Wednesday...and off and on until the Semester ends...
.....we will be cleaning! You will get class participation points for participating in Studio Maintenance. Please bring clothes and shoes that you feel comfortable getting dirty in.
Next Monday, January 27th, is the date of your Ceramics Test.If we have another snow day, it will be on Tuesday, January 28th. You have received a study guide for this test. Let me know, if you have lost it.
Objectives:
1.Finishing touches on pots: burnish, etch or carve. No improvements that involve new clay or slip. Friday is the last day for clay touch ups.
2. Glaze pottery.
3. Work on Study Guide.
4. Review Study Guide as a class on Thursday and Friday.
No more work with wet clay. If your house is out of the kiln, begin painting: You are on a time crunch. If your house, is not out of the kiln, glaze pottery that you have sitting out.
If you are painting, focus on
layering colors when you are painting.
Layer darker colors first and layer lighter colors over it. You'll be
happier with your results if you layer--using one flat color will look
flat and uninteresting.
